You will be developing and maintaining software that runs on our fleet of hardware devices. This will involve integration with our ever-evolving cloud services, and developing and improving methods of testing and ensuring code safety and stability for deployment to thousands of remote devices.

Our product gives IT managers insight into how their users are experiencing WiFi, network, and application performance, and helps them fix problems before users complain. Other performance tools are complex and intimidating, built by network engineers for network engineers; ours is beautiful and simple, and our customers love it. Our sensor hardware is a delight to install and our software is easy and fun to use. Our product is used in offices, universities, banks, hotels, airports, stadiums, retail stores, and more - every business with Wi-Fi is a potential customer that we can help.

Responsibilities:

  • Codes and programs enhancements, updates, and changes for portions and subsystems of end- user applications software running on local, networked, and Internet- based platforms based on specific requirements and instructions.
  • Executes established test plans and protocols for assigned portions of code; identifies, logs, and debugs assigned issues.
  • Develops understanding of and relationship with internal and outsourced development partners on software applications design and development.
  • Participates as a member of project team of other software applications engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for low to moderately- complex products.

Education and experience Required:

  • Must have graduated within the last year with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • Typically 0-2 years experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience or understanding of software applications design tools and languages.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Understanding of design for software applications running on multiple platform types.
  • Understanding of basic testing, coding, and debugging procedures.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.

Skills & Experience:

  • Practical experience programming in Python
  • Enjoys developing clearly written, robust, and careful code - attention to detail is critical
  • Excellent knowledge of GNU/Linux and GNU/Linux command line tools.
  • Good understanding of basic computer networking (any knowledge of IEEE 802.11 is a huge bonus)
  • Basic SQL knowledge
  • Familiar with Git source control or similar
  • Good teamwork and communication skills

Beneficial skills:

  • Experience developing apps on a Raspberry Pi or similar platforms
  • Systems programming experience (C, Rust, etc.)
  • Any Wi-Fi (802.11) or networking experience will be very advantageous
